PM Modi US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Joe Biden on Thursday (June 22). During this, PM Modi was warmly welcomed in the White House. Apart from Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and many officials were present here.
US President Joe Biden said that he is honored that America is making a state visit to India once again after 15 years. When I was the Vice President, I spent a lot of time with PM Modi. I have maintained this ever since I became the President.
Biden said that India and America are working together on every subject. All this is very important for India, America and the world. Whatever decisions we take today will affect the generations to come.
He said the two countries are working together on eradicating poverty, expanding access to healthcare, addressing climate change and tackling food and energy insecurity caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine.
What did Joe Biden say?
Biden said that we have strengthened the Quad for an independent, open, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific. Decades from now, people will look back and say that the Quad changed the course of history for global good.
He further said that I have always believed that this relationship between America and India is one of the most important relationships of the 21st century. The first words of our constitution are that ‘We, the citizens of the country, have an enduring relationship between our peoples and shared values and our shared responsibility as global leaders to deal with the issues of the present.
What did PM Modi say?
After Biden’s welcome speech, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for the friendship. He said, “Today this grand reception at the White House is an honor for 140 crore Indians.” He said that I had come to the US three decades ago and had seen the White House from outside. I came to America many times but for the first time the doors of White House were opened for so many Indians.
What about the Indian community?
PM Modi said that both our countries take pride in our diversity. We both believe in the basic principle of everyone’s interest and everyone’s welfare. He said, “We are two proud nations bound by three words – “We The People”. The people of the Indian community are raising the value of India in America with their hard work and dedication. You are the real strength of our relationship.
