Pakistan backtracks on banning Holi, withdraws notification after fierce flak, know what it said


Pakistan Govt withdraws Holi Ban: In Pakistan, which was formed after the partition of India, there have been atrocities on minorities. A day earlier, the Higher Education Commission had issued an order to ban Holi by Hindu students in Pakistani universities, which was strongly opposed on social media. Some Pakistani leaders also objected to this decision. After severe criticism, the Pakistani government has now reversed its ‘Talibani decree’.

The Pakistani government has now lifted the ban imposed on the celebration of Holi in universities. The Higher Education Commission there has withdrawn the notification banning Holi in Pakistani universities. Higher Education Commission’s Executive Director Shaista Sohail said in a notification today- “The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan respects religious beliefs, festivals and beliefs of all religions. We are making it clear that no one’s sentiments will be hurt And, the celebration of Holi will not be banned in higher educational institutions.”

Pakistani leaders also protested
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader and National Assembly member Khyal Das Kohistani warned Pakistani Education Minister Rana Tanveer about the ban imposed on the celebration of Holi in Pakistani universities. Kheyal Das Kohistani had tweeted on Wednesday (June 21), “Rana Tanveer Sahab, Holi is a festival of colors that spreads love. Quaid-e-Azam had declared respect for religious practices across Pakistan so why is this letter being circulated to hurt the Hindu community? As Wazir-e-Azam, Nawaz Sharif Sahab also celebrated Holi with this community.

On the news of the ban on the celebration of Holi, Pakistani Hindu MP Ramesh Kumar also expressed his displeasure. He said in a conversation with ABP Live that we will not accept such a decree. We are demanding to withdraw it.
