Terrible fire at Harare Sports Club, ICC took this decision on organizing matches


ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023: Amidst the ICC ODI World Cup Qualifiers matches being held in Zimbabwe, a major incident was witnessed at the Harare Sports Club, as one of the stands of the stadium was gutted in a massive fire. Although no match was being played during that time and 6 hours had passed since the match ended. Because of this no person was present in the stadium. Because of this, a major accident was definitely averted.

This incident was seen late Tuesday night at Harare Sports Club. Before that a match was played between Zimbabwe and Netherlands on this ground. The fire brigade immediately reached there as soon as the fire was reported in the stadium. Soon after this the fire was also brought under control. However, the cause of the fire has not been revealed yet. Investigation is on in this matter.

The ICC inspected the stadium in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Cricket officials after the incident. After this, seeing the situation as normal, he decided not to make any changes in the schedule of the matches. According to Zimbabwe Cricket, the fire started in the south-west stand of the stadium.

Zimbabwe’s best performance so far

The top 2 teams in the ICC ODI World Cup Qualifiers matches will get a chance to play in the mega event to be held in India later this year. Host Zimbabwe has seen a great performance in the tournament so far. He has won a great victory in both while playing 2 matches. Apart from this, Oman’s team is in the first place in the second group. Teams of Sri Lanka and West Indies are also participating in the qualifiers.
