Opposition meeting: A meeting of opposition parties engaged in uniting against the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections was held in Patna on Friday (June 23). After this, the opposition targeted the central government and BJP and said that our coming together is in the interest of the country.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in the joint press conference of the opposition that we are setting a common agenda. We the opposition parties are meeting in Shimla on 12th July. It will decide how to proceed further. We have to fight the battle of 2024 unitedly.
Rahul Gandhi told what was the decision?
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that as told by Mallikarjun Kharge and Nitish Kumar, we will take this discussion deeper in the next meeting. Opposition unity is a process, which will proceed from here. It is a battle of ideology. There will definitely be some differences, but we are together.
He further said that BJP and RSS are attacking the foundation of India. This is a fight of ideology and we stand together. We have decided that we will work together and defend our common ideology. This is the process of opposition unity which will go ahead.
What did Nitish Kumar say?
After the meeting, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the next meeting of all the parties will be held again after a few days. In the next meeting it will be decided who will fight where. This meeting will be organized by Kharge. Those who are in governance are not working in the interest of the country. They are all changing history. Prominent leaders of all major opposition parties of the country participated in today’s opposition meeting.
Nitish Kumar said that all of us opposition parties have decided that we will fight together from now on. BJP is changing the history of the country. If they come back after winning the country, they will change the constitution of the country as well.
What did Mamta Banerjee say?
Chief of Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whatever starts from Patna, takes the form of a mass movement. If BJP wins the election again then there will be no election in the country. He said that BJP has a dictatorial government. He said that BJP wants the history of the country to be changed, but we will ensure that the history of the country is saved.
Uddhav Thackeray told this reason for uniting
Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former CM Uddhav Thackeray said that our ideology is different but the country is one. We are united because of this. We will oppose those who want to bring dictatorship in the country.
Mehbooba Mufti mentioned Mahatma Gandhi
Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti said that whatever happened to us in Jammu and Kashmir is happening in the whole country. We are moving forward with the Idea of India given by Mahatma Gandhi. It is our endeavor that Gandhi’s country should not be allowed to become Godse’s country.
Mufti said that BJP has created such an atmosphere in the country that in the last 9 years, there is lot of oppression on Muslims. BJP wants to implement the agenda of RSS in the country.
