Announcement of US President Joe Biden- ‘Will send Indian astronauts to space by next year’


PM Modi US Visit: US President Joe Biden Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Thursday (June 22), after a meeting with Narendra Modi, said that India and the US are forging an alliance to send Indian astronauts to the International Space Station by 2024.

After bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi, Biden said that India and America are collaborating in almost every humanitarian endeavor for development together.

US President Joe Biden said that from alliances in preparing new ways of testing and treatment of diseases like cancer, diabetes, to manned space flight and sending Indian astronauts to the International Space Station by 2024, etc. At the same time, regarding the announcement of India’s decision to join the Artemis Treaty, Modi said that we have taken a new step forward in space cooperation. He said that there are unlimited possibilities of alliance between India and America.

India’s Gaganyaan Spaceship
The Artemis Treaty, based on the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, is a set of non-binding principles designed to guide exploration in civilian space. It is a US-led effort to return humans to the Moon by 2025, with the goal of exploring space to Mars and other planets.

At the same time, India is planning to send the first manned spaceship, Gaganyaan, which may happen in late 2024 or early 2025. Earlier, a White House official had said that NASA and ISRO are developing a strategic framework for manned space flight this year.

In the field of semiconductor, American companies are tying up for the construction of semiconductor system in India. Chip company Micron Technology said in a statement that Micron will set up a semiconductor testing and assembly plant in Gujarat with a total investment of $2.75 billion.

Micron said that it will invest $ 825 million on its behalf on this plant to be developed in two phases. The remaining amount will be invested by the Central and State Governments.
