India Egypt Relations: Indian Prime Minister in America Narendra Modi The first state visit of (PM Modi) has been completed. Now Modi will visit the African country Egypt on Saturday, 24 June. Egypt and India have been the two most ancient civilizations. The new name of Egypt is Egypt. PM Modi will be there on a state tour for 2 days. Indian Foreign Ministry has told that tomorrow he will leave for Egypt from Washington.
According to the statement of the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi will be welcomed in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Ambassador Ajit Gupte told that the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, will hold a meeting with PM Modi. Ambassador Ajit said that both India and Egypt are two of the oldest civilizations in the world and their mutual relations are more than four thousand years old.
There have been maritime contacts between the two countries for centuries.
Ambassador Ajit Gupte said that we have had maritime links for centuries and in recent years, especially after the coming to power of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Prime Minister Modi, the relationship has become even stronger. He said that everyone in Egypt is influenced by the Indian culture and people there also have a keen interest in watching Bollywood movies. The people there also know that India and Egypt had worked together for the Non-Aligned Movement.
Mahatma Gandhi is also popular there
According to the Indian ambassador, Mahatma Gandhi, who is considered the father of India’s nation, is also in the hearts of the people of Egypt. They remember the close friendship between Mahatma Gandhi and Saad Jaglaul. The ambassador said that the people of Egypt want to maintain close ties with India and in such a state visit of PM Modi will bring more warmth in the relations between the two countries.
PM will pay tribute to soldiers
Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra told that PM Modi will also visit the Heliopolis Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery in Cairo, where he will pay tribute to the nearly 4,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died during the First World War. He said that PM Modi’s visit to Egypt will not only continue to accelerate relations between the two countries, but will also expand cooperation in new areas of business and economic interaction.
