Taliban officials in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province this week ordered female aid workers to stop working on a refugee project, Reuters reported. The Ministry working for refugees in Afghanistan issued a letter saying that several agencies helping refugees have violated government laws in Spin Boldak, a town near the border with Pakistan.

The letter, seen by Reuters, was confirmed by a spokesman for the provincial governor. According to the statement released by the Taliban, all partner organizations that are working with the Refugee and Repatriation Department of Spin Boldak. He should ask his female colleagues not to come to work and stay at home till further notice.
Taliban had promised after coming to power
Significantly, after coming to power in August 2021, the Taliban had said that it is not the Taliban of 1990 and has changed. He also made many promises regarding the freedom of women. However, one by one all those promises are being broken. This is the reason why Taliban is being criticized all-round.
Taliban has almost closed the doors of female education in Afghanistan. His entry into the university has been banned. After the arrival of the Taliban, a large number of women have been removed from government jobs. In many cases, salaries were reduced and women workers were sent home.
