PM Modi US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi With the American tour of India, the debate about Muslims and minorities started in India. Some US lawmakers, including Ilhan Omar, boycotted PM Modi’s speech alleging persecution of minorities in India, after which former President Barack Obama also talked about asking questions about Muslims. In the midst of this whole debate, when PM Modi attended the joint press conference, a journalist asked him a question about it. To which PM Modi replied in great detail.

So what are you and your government doing to improve the protection of the rights of Muslims and other minorities and to preserve free speech?

There is no question of discrimination – PM Modi
In response to this question, Prime Minister Modi said that democracy is in our veins and there is no question of discriminating against anyone on the basis of caste, creed and religion. Modi said that our government runs on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas and there is no discrimination in India’s democratic values. PM Modi said, “Democracy is in our veins. We live democracy. Our forefathers have put into words the form of the Constitution. When we live a democracy, there is no question of discrimination.”

Let us tell you that PM Modi addressed the joint session of the US Congress for the second time, where he was warmly welcomed and the MPs raised slogans of Modi-Modi. However, in the meantime, many American leaders raised questions about the rights of minorities and especially Muslims in India. Former President Obama also said that if I had talked to PM Modi, I would have raised the issue of security of Muslims in India with him.
