Through tweet, Sachdeva cursed such a Chief Minister
Virendra Sachdeva said in a tweet, “Today at the Delhi Jal Board headquarters, we protested against the Kejriwal government regarding the shortage of drinking water in Delhi. He said- The water situation in Delhi has become so bad that even in the posh Civil Line area where Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lives, the taps are dry and the water that comes is also not potable.
Of the requirement of 1,300 MGD, only about 1,000 MGD is available.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently directed Jal Board officials to prepare a detailed action plan to address the issue of polluted water in several parts of the city. Kejriwal had said on June 14 that Delhi’s water crisis would be solved in the next two-three years. According to government estimates, the two crore residents of the national capital require about 1,300 MGD of water for drinking and other needs. But the Delhi Jal Board is able to provide only about 1,000 MGD, due to which many areas continue to struggle with water shortage. It is noteworthy that one MGD means 10 lakh gallons per day.
