Dinesh Karthik on MS Dhoni: Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik, citing the example of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, said that even those coming from a small place in cricket can make a big name. Dinesh Karthik clearly wants to say that small or big place in cricket does not make any difference. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who belongs to Ranchi city of Jharkhand, has done a lot for the Indian team.
Dhoni India has won all the three ICC trophies to the Indian team under his captaincy in white ball cricket. Dhoni is the first Indian captain who has made the team the winner in ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy.
The Indian team first won the ICC trophy in the form of World Cup in 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. After this, Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Team India to victory in the second ICC Trophy in 2007 through the T20 World Cup. After this, the Indian team won the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.
While Dinesh Karthik said, “Dhoni is the main example that even if we come from a small place, we can still dream and achieve something big in cricket, he is the first to do so.”

Mahendra Singh Dhoni played the last match of his international career in 2019 against New Zealand. After this, on August 15, 2020, he announced his retirement from international cricket. Dhoni played 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20 Internationals in his international career. He has scored 4876 runs in Tests at an average of 38.09, 10773 runs in ODIs at an average of 50.57 and 1617 runs in T20 Internationals at an average of 37.60 and strike rate of 126.13.
