Indian PM on Egypt visit after 26 years, Modi given guard of honor in Cairo

On reaching Cairo, the capital of Egypt, Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli received Modi. After that he was given a guard of honor at the airport.

On reaching the capital Cairo, PM Modi was also welcomed by the people of the Indian community. During that time slogans of Vande Mataram and Modi-Modi started echoing. A woman of Indian origin, Jena, sang to him the song ‘Ye dosti hum nahi chhodenge…’ from the film Sholay. His video has now gone viral on social media.

India’s Ambassador Ajit Gupte briefed the media about PM Modi’s visit. He said that the trade relations between India and Egypt are four thousand years old. This state visit of PM Modi will further strengthen the relationship between the two. Let us tell you that Egypt was earlier called Egypt, which is one of the oldest civilizations in the world.

A statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said that now PM Modi will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fateh al-Sisi on Sunday, June 25. This will be the second meeting of the heads of both the countries in 6 months. The last meeting between the two took place when Abdel Fateh had come to Delhi this year as the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations of India. PM Modi has gone to Egypt after 26 years as a Prime Minister. Before PM Modi, the Prime Minister of India had gone there in 1997.

PM Modi will also visit Egypt’s one thousand year old Shia Masjid Al-Hakim during his two-day visit. Apart from this, there is also a program of PM Modi’s visit to Helio Polis, the memorial of Indian soldiers who died in the First World War.
