Chief Minister Chouhan announced

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced to increase the dearness allowance of state government employees by four percent. He said that at present there is a difference of four per cent in the dearness allowance of central and state government employees, which will be abolished. He was addressing Chief Minister Kanya Vivah / Nikah ceremony at Gillaur village of Bhairunda tehsil of Sehore district. During the same programme, Chouhan informed about increasing the dearness allowance.

From January 1, 2023, the government employees of Madhya Pradesh were being given dearness allowance at the rate of 38 percent under the seventh pay scale. At the same time, the central government has increased the dearness allowance for central employees to 42 percent in March, which has come into effect from January 1, 2023. After this announcement of Chouhan, the dearness allowance of the government employees of Madhya Pradesh will also increase to 42 per cent equal to that of central government employees.

Dearness Allowance was also increased in March

The state government had increased the dearness allowance only 3 months back. In this way, in a span of just 3 months, the government employees of Madhya Pradesh have got a double gift. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra had informed about the increase in dearness allowance on March 15 after the cabinet meeting. Then the dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent. In this way, this year’s total increase in dearness allowance has now become 8 percent.

Elections are going to be held this year

The latest announcement of Chief Minister Chouhan is being linked to the assembly elections to be held in the state. Assembly elections are going to be held in some states by the end of this year, including Madhya Pradesh. Earlier, in the assembly elections held in the year 2018, the Congress had won and Kamal Nath became the Chief Minister. However, later there was a rebellion in the Congress and Shivraj Singh Chouhan returned.
