Many cricket pundits and former players were surprised to not see the name of Sarfaraz Khan in the Test team. Former Indian opener Akash Chopra was also involved in this. Akash Chopra made a tweet about Sarfaraz Khan, in which he talked about the sanctity of first class cricket.
Akash Chopra asked through a tweet that will Sarfaraz be remembered as one of those players who scored a lot of runs in the first class and still did not get a chance in the Indian team? Aakash Chopra wrote in a tweet, “Will Sarfaraz be remembered as the player who scored a mountain of runs in first class cricket and yet never got a chance to play for India?”
The former Indian opener further wrote, “I really hope it is not so. And I hope they will be talked to about what else they need to do to get elected. Otherwise… the sanctity of first class cricket (the heart and soul of Indian cricket) will be lost.”
