Big blow to BRS in Telangana, about one and a half dozen leaders will join Congress


Telangana News: The BRS has suffered a major setback in the election state of Telangana. About one and a half dozen leaders of KCR’s party will join the Congress on Monday (June 26). BRS rebel Jupalli Krishna Rao and former MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy are likely to meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Monday before announcing their decision to join the party.

Let us tell you that about one and a half dozen leaders, including former Khammam MP PS Reddy, former minister Krishna Rao, MLC Damodar Reddy and three-four former MLAs, will join the Congress in Delhi. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will welcome these leaders at the party headquarters in Delhi on Monday. After the victory in Karnataka, the way the Congress has made a dent in the ruling BRS in Telangana, the contest has become interesting.

Congress meeting in New Delhi

An important meeting of the Telangana Congress leaders with the central leaders of the party is also going to be held in New Delhi on Monday to discuss the BRS rebel leaders joining the Congress. The central leadership has also called prominent leaders of undivided Khammam and Mahbubnagar districts. Congress sources said that the possibility of participation of more leaders from BRS and BJP is also likely to be discussed in the meeting.

Krishna Rao will join Congress again

Both the leaders were suspended from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in April for anti-party activities. Krishna Rao resigned from the Congress in 2011 to join the BRS. He was elected from Kollapur constituency in Mahbubnagar district on a BRS (then TRS) ticket in 2014. Now he is likely to join Congress again.
