Chitrakoot Road Accident: The havoc of speed was seen in the Pahadi police station area of Chitrakoot. Two pilgrims doing circumambulation while lying down were killed and six were injured when the truck hit them. Father and son are among the dead. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The truck driver fled from the spot after the incident. Devotees of Sakrauli village were going to the temple of Devasthan Singri Baba by lying down to fulfill their wishes late at night. The high speed truck coming from the front near the famous Pur village trampled the devotees.
Speeding truck wreaked havoc in Chitrakoot
Babulal and Brijlal were killed in the accident and six other devotees were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. After getting the information, the police reached the spot, took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. The aggrieved devotees have made a serious allegation of assault on the police. He told that after the road accident, the police immediately started pressurizing the postmortem of the dead body. The policemen thrashed the dead body for protesting against taking it to the mortuary immediately.

Devotees have also suffered injuries due to the fighting. Additional Superintendent of Police Chakrapani Tripathi says that late night a truck crushed the devotees performing Dandavat Parikrama. In the accident, one devotee died on the spot and the other devotee died while being taken to the district hospital. Some devotees have been injured. The injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment. Doctors have referred to higher center for better treatment. The allegation leveled by the family members of the victim against the police is being investigated. Action will be taken if found guilty in the investigation.
