PM Modi Egypt Visit Latest Updates: Prime Minister Narendra is now in Egypt on a two-day visit after a three-day visit to the US. This is PM Modi’s first visit to Egypt and also the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Egypt in 26 years. PM Modi was given the Guard of Honor on reaching Egypt. On reaching Egypt’s capital Cairo on Saturday (June 24), PM Modi was warmly welcomed by the people of the Indian community.

On Saturday, on the first day of the tour, Prime Minister Modi met Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli in the capital Cairo. Before this, PM Modi was received by Egyptian PM Mustafa Madbouli on his landing.

On reaching Egypt, PM Modi tweeted, I am sure that this visit will strengthen India’s relations with Egypt. I look forward to holding talks and other events with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that “in addition to his talks with President el-Sisi, Prime Minister Modi is likely to hold talks with senior dignitaries of the Egyptian government, some prominent Egyptian personalities as well as the Indian community in Egypt.” The statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said that “the relations between India and Egypt are based on ancient trade and economic links as well as cultural and deep-rooted people-to-people ties.”

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Alam in Cairo. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the two discussed the strong cultural and people-to-people ties between India and Egypt. Issues related to social and religious harmony in the society and combating extremism and radicalism were also discussed during the talks.
