Pujara has been dropped from the Indian Test team on the West Indies tour.
Recently, Pujara had a poor batting performance in the final of the World Test Championship played against Australia, after which he was dropped from the Indian Test team. It was told in the reports that Team India is trying to prepare young players like Gaikwad and Jaiswal.
According to ‘ESPNcricinfo’, Pujara will play for West Zone in Duleep Trophy. Apart from this, Suryakumar Yadav will also be seen playing for the West Zone. At the same time, Priyank Panchal will be seen handling the command of the West Zone. Apart from this, batsmen like Sarfaraz Khan and Prithvi Shaw can also be included in the team.
Surya did not return to the test again
Suryakumar Yadav has played only 1 Test match so far, in which he has scored 8 runs. Surya made his Test debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played against Australia in February-March this year. However, after this only Test match, Surya has not yet returned to the Test. He was not included in the Test team even on the West Indies tour.
Pujara has played more than 100 tests
Cheteshwar Pujara has so far played 103 Test matches in his career. Batting in 176 innings of these matches, he scored 7195 runs at an average of 43.61. During this, 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries have come out of his bat with 3 double centuries. Pujara made his Test debut in October 2010 against Australia.
