Earlier, officials said on Monday (June 26) that the footage of the alleged incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed in the one and a half kilometer long Pragati Maidan tunnel. This tunnel connects New Delhi to Sarai Kale Khan and Noida and has five underpasses. According to the police, it is also interrogating the complainants, their employer and other employees to ascertain whether any insider was behind the incident.

In the 22-second video captured in the CCTV camera, four miscreants riding two motorcycles are seen chasing a cab and stopping it inside the underpass. It can be seen in the video that as soon as the cab stops, both the miscreants on the back seat of the motorcycle get down and take out their guns and then one of these miscreants runs to the cab driver’s seat, while the other one goes towards the back door.

At the same time, the person riding on the back seat is seen handing over a black colored bag to a miscreant, which allegedly contained Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh cash. It can be seen in the video that after taking the bag, both the miscreants run away on their respective motorcycles. In this video, all the four miscreants are seen wearing helmets.

What did Delhi Police say?

Police officials said that there was a delivery agent and his associate inside the cab and the bags carried by both allegedly contained Rs 1.5 to two lakh cash. He told that both were going to Gurugram by cab to give this bag to someone. Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Pranav Tayal said that the complainant, who works as a delivery agent at Omiya Enterprises, Chandni Chowk, on Saturday gave a written complaint at the Tilak Marg police station that he along with his colleague had come to deliver a bag full of cash. Tayal, quoting the complaint, said that the complainant and his associate had taken a cab from Red Fort and on their way to Gurugram at Ring Rog, when they entered inside the tunnel, four miscreants riding two motorcycles stopped them and at gun point forced them to spend one and a half to two hours.
