Uniform Civil Code: to come Lok Sabha Elections Before the debate on Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has intensified. After all BJP leaders, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has advocated Uniform Civil Code. Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board called a meeting to discuss the issue. In this meeting which lasted for about three hours, the legal aspects of the Uniform Civil Code were discussed. All the lawyers associated with the board were present in this meeting.
Preparing to go to Law Commission
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board decided in this meeting that a draft will be prepared regarding the Uniform Civil Code. Apart from this, people associated with the board will ask for an appointment with the chairman of the Law Commission. After this the board will submit its draft to the Law Commission. It has been told that the essential parts of Shariat will be mentioned in this draft. Prime Minister Modi’s statement was also mentioned in the board meeting.
Ruckus on UCC
Prime Minister Narendra Modi After the statement of U.P., fierce ruckus started regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). All the opposition parties targeted the BJP and the Modi government regarding this and said that this issue is being raised as soon as the elections are near. The opposition alleged that efforts are being made to divert attention from the real issues like inflation and unemployment. On Prime Minister Modi’s statement, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi questioned why the Prime Minister is taking inspiration from Pakistan? Owaisi asked whether the pluralism and diversity of the country would be taken away in the name of UCC?
