Indore: In a survey conducted regarding the increasing trend of drug addiction in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh), a private organization has made shocking revelations. It is bound to worry the district administration after the survey figures came out. On the occasion of International Anti-Drug Day, on Monday, the collector administered oath to all the officers, the administration will soon start a big campaign against drugs under the Safe City Project.
According to a survey conducted by a private organization, the number of drug addict youth in Indore has increased by 27 percent. These include women aged 20 to 35, whose number is 39 percent. These released figures are really worrying for Indore. Nothing can be said clearly about how much cognizance the police and narcotics department is taking, but the Indore collector has definitely taken the survey report seriously. However, even before the survey report came, he had started a campaign against drugs.

Now no one can enter the packages with cigarette, bidi, gutkha or other intoxicants including tobacco in the collector’s premises. Material is being seized by checking at the entrance itself. On the occasion of International Anti-Drug Day, the collector also administered oath to all the officers on Monday (June 26). According to the Collector, drug addiction is a social evil and effective action is needed to root it out, this week the committee along with narcotics and police will outline the action by identifying drug addicts. To start a campaign against drugs, the collector has also appealed to the general public that he will also involve social organizations in this campaign.
55 percent people get intoxicated 5 times a day
NGO director Bharti Mandole has submitted the report to the police. A survey conducted by the NGO Eva Welfare Organization has found that many settlements have up to eight places for the availability of drugs. 55 percent of the people involved in the survey admitted that they take intoxicants up to five times a day. Every second person in the age group of 20 to 50 living in the slums of the city is in the grip of drugs. From alcohol to ganja, smack, charas and MDMA are being consumed in the settlements.
Women aged 20 to 35 are also involved in drug addiction
This disclosure has come to the fore in a survey conducted by an NGO. Surprisingly, women are also included in drug addicts. Among them, women in the age group of 20 to 35 years are the maximum. The NGO did this survey between February 2019 and August 2022. For this survey conducted in different slums of the city, 100-100 people of different age groups were asked questions by the NGO members. An online campaign was also launched to conduct this survey.
