Ashwini Upadhyay, after meeting the chairman of the Law Commission and handing over the proposal to him, said that we have suggested that the name of UCC be changed to ICC, that is, instead of Uniform Civil Code, it should be named Indian Civil Code. Apart from this, Upadhyay mentioned 10 other suggestions which he has placed before the Law Commission. Whose information he himself has given.
Lakhs of suggestions regarding UCC
In a conversation with ABP News, Ashwini Upadhyay told that the chairman of the Law Commission has informed that till now more than 8.50 lakh people have given their suggestions regarding the Uniform Civil Code. The chairman of the Law Commission also told that the suggestions coming to him are also from the tribal belt. Upadhyay told that the chairman of the Law Commission has said that once all the suggestions are received, seminars will be held across the country regarding UCC and people will be interacted with.
The BJP leader told that the chairman of the Law Commission also assured that after getting the suggestions, a draft report regarding UCC would also be prepared soon. After which the way to implement Uniform Civil Code in the country can be opened.
