US: A 49-year-old Indian-origin man in the US has been sentenced to 45 months in prison after being found guilty in a human trafficking case. He has been accused of smuggling more than 800 people using ride hailing app Uber.
In this case, the Department of Justice said in a press release that Rajinder Pal Singh alias Jaspal Gill had confessed to his crime in February. He himself admitted that he used to work as a key member of the smuggling gang. Along with this, he has taken hundreds of Indian citizens across the border from Canada. In return, he has taken an amount of more than US $ 500,000.
