Thailand: A horrific accident occurred during a security exercise at a school in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, in which a student died. Along with this, dozens of students were injured. Actually, this accident happened due to explosion in the fire extinguisher. The deceased teenager was a high school student. The police have confirmed the accident at the school. The incident is being told of last Friday.
Regarding the incident, Police Commissioner Thiti Sengsawang told CNN that 18-year-old Khumthong Premmani died after a fire extinguisher exploded during an outdoor fire drill at the prestigious Rajwinit Mathayom School in Bangkok. The incident took place when the fire station officials were teaching the students how to use the fire extinguisher.
Training was given to the students
According to the report, the police officer told that the incident took place when the students were being given training on fire extinguishers. The school management told that suddenly there was a loud explosion, like a bomb blast, in which many students came under the grip. Due to this explosion, the dead student Khumthong fell about 30 feet away. The pieces of the cylinder had gone into the chest of the 18-year-old student. Due to which he died on the spot.
29 people injured
According to a CNN report, 29 other people were injured in the explosion, most of whom had minor injuries. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the area was sealed. Forensic officials said that the fire extinguisher was used without a safety valve, which led to the accident.
Police is investigating the accident
Forensic officials further said that it was filled with gas and was exposed to the sun for a long time, due to which it overheated and exploded. Police is collecting evidence and CCTV footage from the school. At present, three coaches have been accused of negligence.
