Punjab News: Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh and his associates are on hunger strike in Dibrugarh jail. Amritpal’s wife Kirandeep Kaur has revealed that he is on hunger strike. Kirandeep Kaur also said that she is being given food mixed with tobacco in the jail. The jathedar of Takht Shri Damdama Sahib Gyani Harpreet Singh has condemned the use of tobacco in food. Releasing a video message, he issued a video message that it is intolerable to give tobacco to Gursikhs in jail.
‘It is wrong to feed tobacco mixed with flour’
Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh along with nine of his companions are imprisoned in Assam’s Dibrugarh Jail. Whom Amritpal’s wife Kirandeep Kaur had disclosed about not being allowed to talk on the phone and not getting good food. Regarding this, Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said that according to the news published in the media, it is painful and intolerable to feed Amritpal Singh and other youths who are jailed under NSA by kneading tobacco in flour. He said that the Assam jail administration should stop discriminating against Sikh prisoners and they should be given phone facilities like ordinary prisoners. Families and lawyers of all Sikhs have to travel to Dibrugarh again and again. At the same time, to overcome the difficulty of language, the jail administration needs a translator.
