China New Foreign Law: China’s top diplomat Wang Yi said on Thursday (June 29) that his country has enacted its first foreign relations law, which will work against sanctions from Western countries and protect national sovereignty. The new law, passed on Wednesday (June 28) by the Standing Committee of China’s parliament, the National People’s Congress, will take effect from July 1 amid concerns over Chinese foreign law enforcement activities.
The new law also enshrines by law the promotion of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s foreign policy initiatives on global security, development and civilization.
