Uniform Civil Code News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi After advocating the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) on behalf of PM Modi, debate has started on this issue in the whole country. Meanwhile, it is being said that the Central Government may bring a bill regarding the Uniform Civil Code in the upcoming monsoon session of the Parliament. A parliamentary standing committee has also called a meeting of representatives of the Law Commission and the Law Ministry on July 3 on the recent notice issued by the Law Commission to seek public opinion on the UCC.
The thing that is discussed more among all of them is the day of 5th August. There is talk in political circles that the BJP-led central government may present a bill on UCC in Parliament on 5 August. The Modi government also brought the bill to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir on 5 August. Along with this, PM Modi also performed Bhoomi Pujan of Ram temple on 5th August itself. If we look at the history related to the date of August 5 of the Central Government, then the possibility of this increases further.

When the process of removing Article 370 was going on from Jammu and Kashmir, no one was even aware of it and then on August 5, 2019, the government presented a bill regarding it. Once again there is more or less the same movement in the country. Again there is such a big preparation. Similar speculations and claims are going on. Is BJP going to implement its third core issue? In fact, there have been three important issues in BJP’s manifesto, first Ram Mandir, second abolition of Article 370 from Kashmir and third one country-one law i.e. implementation of Uniform Civil Code.
UCC is the third core issue of BJP
Article 370 has been removed from Kashmir, Ram temple is being built. Now it is the turn of the Common Civil Code. This is being discussed continuously. The National Law Commission has sought opinion from the country regarding this. So the next question is arising from here whether a big decision is going to be taken on Uniform Civil Code on 5th August? Will the UCC be implemented in the country on August 5, because the Parliament session will be going on around August 5, but the question is why the date of August 5 only? The answer is the picture of the foundation stone of Ram temple which is three years old.
Why is August 5 special?
The date was 5 August 2020. The country could not recover from the havoc of Korana, but what happened in Ayodhya, which was being awaited for centuries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ayodhya. He bowed down to Ramlala and then laid the foundation brick of the Ram temple. On August 5, 2020, in the 9th month after the historic verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi, the fulfillment of BJP’s promises began.
Kapil Mishra’s tweet fueled speculation
Now when the door of the grand Ram temple is about to open for the devotees, the sounds of general elections are being heard. Then suddenly the discussion on Uniform Civil Code has started. Amidst the national level debate regarding UCC, BJP leader Kapil Mishra has made a tweet. He wrote that the decision of Ram Mandir was taken on 5th August, Section 370 was removed on 5th August, then 5th August is going to come and Uniform Civil Code too.
If Kapil Mishra’s signals are understood, then on August 5, the Modi government can take a big decision by taking the Uniform Civil Code. Not only Kapil Mishra, in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah, Bihar BJP’s senior leader Sushil Modi said that we have called the representatives of the Law Commission, Government of India. The Law Commission has released a consultation paper. What is in that consultation paper? What does the Law Commission have to say on the Uniform Civil Code? He will tell all this, he will answer the questions of the members of the committee.
Will be discussed in the parliamentary committee meeting
In the midst of this statement of Sushil Modi, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, understand the preparation regarding the Uniform Civil Code. The parliamentary committee on law and justice has called a meeting on July 3 regarding the Uniform Civil Code. Sushil Modi will preside over the meeting of the parliamentary committee. Representatives of Law Commission, Legal Affairs Department and Legislative Department have been called in the meeting. On June 14, the Law Commission had asked for suggestions on the Uniform Civil Code, the same is to be discussed.
However, Sushil Modi is not speaking openly about the meeting now. He said that in this meeting everyone will say their own thing. The meeting of the committee is confidential, so I will not comment on it. Even though Sushil Modi is not saying anything openly, but this meeting before August 5 is considered very important. Because on June 14, the 22nd Law Commission had suddenly sought the opinion of the country regarding the UCC.
UCC was rejected by the 21st Law Commission
This opinion of the National Law Commission was also shocking. Because the 21st Law Commission had rejected the Uniform Civil Code. Then the Commission had said that UCC is neither necessary nor desirable in the country at this time, but as soon as the Law Commission moved forward on UCC amidst the election buzz, a whirlwind of statements started. Between claims, apprehension, fear and explanation of its benefits, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said a big thing in signals.
What did PM Modi say?
PM Modi had said that the work of provoking people is being done in the name of the Civil Code. How can the country run on two laws? Even in the Constitution of India, it has been said about equal rights of the citizens. The Supreme Court has repeatedly said to bring Uniform Civil Code, but these people are hungry for vote bank. This was the first time, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi openly said something about UCC. That too when a national debate was going on. On June 27, as soon as PM Modi made this statement regarding one country-one law, the movement intensified.
Muslim Personal Law Board made this demand
On the same day i.e. in the evening of June 27, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal met Home Minister Amit Shah. The Law Secretary was also present during this meeting. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board had also called a meeting on 27 June. On June 28, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board demanded an extension of six months for the opinion sought from the public. All the religious and non-religious organizations of the country have started making statements regarding the Uniform Civil Code and BJP leaders have given a big signal by writing the date of 5th August.
Now that August 5 is about to come again, this time the national debate has started on the third core issue of BJP, Uniform Civil Code. of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections The countdown has begun. The Modi government with absolute majority has a chance to complete its third core issue. So the question is arising whether there will be a revolutionary decision again on 5th August of 2023.
