The Finance Ministry today announced the GST data for the month of June 2023 on July 1. According to government data, the government received Rs 1.61 lakh crore from GST during the month of June 2023, which is an increase of 12 per cent over the year-ago period. Earlier, during the month of May also there was an increase of 12 percent in GST collection.

This was the collection in May

Earlier, during the month of May, the government had received a revenue of Rs 1.57 lakh crore from GST. This earning to the exchequer during May 2023 was 12 percent more than a year ago i.e. May 2022. Just before May i.e. during the month of April, GST had made its best ever record. During the month of April, the government earned Rs 1.87 lakh crore from GST.

This record was made last month

The figures of GST collection show that the government is earning handsomely from this. In the history of 6 years of GST, there have been 6 such occasions so far, when the revenue received from GST has been more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore. At the same time, it has also been the fourth month when the GST collection has exceeded Rs 1.60 lakh crore. Not only this, but the last month i.e. June 2023 was the 15th consecutive month when the government has succeeded in collecting more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore revenue from GST.

1.61 lakh crore came in this way

If you look at the figures for the month of June, Rs 31,013 crore has been received from Central GST (CGST), Rs 38,292 crore from State GST (SGST) and Rs 80,292 crore from Integrated GST (IGST), of which Rs 39,095 crore was collected on the import of goods. Includes Rs. Apart from this, the government has received Rs 11,900 crore from Cess.
