Pictures of these insects are going viral on social media. For which some people are claiming that these insects can cause serious illness. Some people are comparing its infection with the plague of the Bible.

The tiny insects have become a nuisance to pedestrians and bicyclists appearing around Manhattan and Brooklyn. These insects have made metro platforms, malls and other public places their new abode. Local people are writing fiercely on social media about these insects.

Users telling problems on Twitter

Sharing a clip of flying insects, a Twitter user wrote that they have become a new problem for all of us. Being small, they are getting into our hair, clothes and even nose. The user wrote claiming that these insects are smaller than mosquitoes. Another user tweeted that can anyone tell what is happening in New York? Expert said – nothing to panic

According to the Associated Press, City University entomologist Professor David Lohman has said that these are winged aphids. According to the New York Times, Cornell University professor Dr. Cory Morrow has said that a sudden aphid attack is unusual, but there is no reason to panic. This is the result of the weather.

Insects increased due to changing weather
