Why tomato prices increased

Rohit Kumar said that the weather is responsible for the increase in the price of tomatoes, which is expected to stabilize completely by August. However, due to the arrival of supplies from the hill states in 15 days, its prices can be reduced or stable. The secretary said that this year, transportation problems due to erratic weather conditions in the northern regions and supply problems due to whitefly disease in Kolar, Karnataka, have led to a spurt in prices.

On the other hand, tomato crop has been affected due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Due to this also the prices of tomatoes have increased.
