Allan Border Has Parkinson’s Disease: Former Australian captain Allan Border made such a disclosure about his health, which has surprised all his fans. Border told that he is suffering from Parkinson’s disease and if he survives till the age of 80 then it will be nothing less than a miracle. Border also told that he came to know about this disease only in the year 2016.
Alan Border told in his statement to NewsCorp that when I saw the neurosurgeon, he told me that I am suffering from Parkinson’s disease. I didn’t want people to feel sorry for me. You don’t know whether people bother or not, but a day will come when people will notice you. I think my position is much better than other people. I am 68 years old now and if I live for 80 years then it will be nothing less than a miracle.
Talking about Parkinson’s disease, it is a movement disorder. In this, the nerves reaching the brain from the hands or feet of the victim stop working. This disease gets detected slowly and it is sometimes difficult to identify its symptoms.
One of the great captains of Australian cricket
Allan Border is counted among the great captains of Australian cricket. He played 156 Test matches for Australia from 1979 to 1994. Out of this, Border also captained the team in 93. He was the first player to score 11,000 runs in Test format. When the Australian team won the World Cup for the first time in the year 1987, then Allan Border was the captain of the team. The series played between India and Australia was named after him and Sunil Gavaskar as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
