Uniform Civil Code: Where the Uniform Civil Code is getting the support of some parties, there are some parties which are seen criticizing it. On the other hand, the Parliamentary Committee on Law and Order Affairs has called a meeting on July 3 regarding the Uniform Civil Code. According to Congress sources, the 21st Law Commission termed the Uniform Civil Code as unnecessary and said that it is neither mandatory nor desirable.
According to the report of NDTV, the current i.e. 22nd Law Commission has not yet submitted its report regarding the Uniform Civil Code and the Congress will wait for the next step of the Law Commission and the Union Law Ministry on this subject. On the other hand, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has made fun of the Congress regarding this matter. Five members of the Congress are in the Parliamentary Committee on Law and Order Affairs. In the meeting to be held on July 3, the Congress will stick to the Law Commission’s stand that the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code is neither mandatory nor desirable.
‘Congress leaders have gone berserk’ – Piyush Goyal
At the same time, after the wait and watch stand of the Congress, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has fiercely attacked the party. Piyush Goyal said, “I think the Congress and its leaders have gone berserk.” At this time, it is the need of the hour that a law should be made by uniting all the people of the country. The makers of the constitution had also said this 70 years ago. The Supreme Court has also said this during five separate hearings on bringing UCC.” He said that I think Kapil Sibal has forgotten the development work done by PM Modi for the minorities. Along with this, Piyush Goyal said that I think many parties will support BJP on UCC.
