Real Estate Sector: Despite the increase in costlier home loans and property prices, this has not had any significant impact on the housing demand in the country. Rather, in terms of real estate, in the eight major cities of the country year 2023 Housing sales have seen a jump of 15 per cent in the first six months.
PropTiger, the real estate brokerage company that runs Housing.com and Makaan.com, has released a report on housing sales. These things have been said in this report. According to the report, in the first six months of 2023, sales of 1,66,090 residential units were seen. Whereas in the same period last year, a total of 1,44,950 housing units were sold. There has been an increase in home sales in the first six months of 2023, but there has been a slowdown in demand in three of the eight major cities Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
According to PropTiger’s data, there has been a decline in housing sales in Delhi NCR in the first six months of 2023. Between January and June, the sales of Garo in Delhi-NCR stood at 7040 units, a decrease of 26 per cent. Whereas in the same period in 2022, a total of 9,530 housing units were sold. Housing sales in Bangalore declined by 11 per cent to 14,210 units from 16,020 units. Kolkata has sold 4,170 housing units with a decline of 31 per cent, while in 2022 a total of 6,080 housing units were sold in the same period.
According to PropTiger, housing sales in Ahmedabad increased by 23 per cent to 15,710 units as against 12,790 units last year. Sales in Chennai have increased by two percent to 6,680 units as compared to 6,520 units in 2022. Housing sales in Hyderabad have seen a jump of 24 per cent and it has been 17,890 units while in 2022 sales of 14,460 housing units were seen.
There has been a jump of 26 per cent in housing sales in Mumbai and Pune. A total of 62,630 housing units have been sold in Mumbai in the first six months of 2023 while 49,510 housing units were sold in the same period in 2022. Looking at the sales of housing units in Pune, a total of 37,760 units were sold in the first six months of 2023, while 30,030 units were sold in the first six months of 2022.
