Jodhpur News: In the psychiatry department of MDM Hospital in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, cases of patient biting by rats are continuously coming to the fore. On the other hand, after repeated complaints of rat-biting patients, the administration on Monday formed an inquiry committee to investigate the matter.
committee formed
Relatives of at least four mentally ill patients complained of similar incidents last week, prompting the Mathura Das Mathur (MDM) hospital administration to intervene. Dilip Kachwaha, principal and controller of the group of SN Medical College and affiliated hospitals in Jodhpur, said that we have constituted a committee, which will first find out whether the injuries to the patients in the psychiatric department were caused by rats or for some other reason.
‘Necessary steps will be taken’
Kachwaha further said that necessary steps will be taken on the basis of the report, while the hospital administration has been directed to initiate action against Rajasthan Pest Control, the agency responsible for pest control in the hospital.
Administration gave clarification
At the same time, the Mathura Das Mathur Hospital administration has given clarification on the patient being bitten by rats. The administration says that it is not easy to control pest in the psychiatric department. No harmful substance of any kind can be kept in its ward because there is a danger that the psychopath may consume it. However, an inquiry committee has been formed regarding this, further arrangements will be made only after the report comes.
It is being told that construction work is going on in the hospital, excavation is going on at many places. Due to construction, cracks have come in many places, due to which the number of rats is increasing continuously.
