Maharashtra Politics Crisis: Taking action on the demand of NCP working president Supriya Sule amid ongoing political upheaval in Maharashtra, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has expelled Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel from the party.
Sule had tweeted that Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel on July 2 had committed a direct violation of the party constitution and rules, which was tantamount to desertion and disqualification from the membership of the party. That’s why they should be disqualified.
Demand to file disqualification petition
Supriya Sule said, “I request Sharad Pawar to take immediate action and file a disqualification petition against the Members of Parliament under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution of India before the competent authority.”
Mr.Sunil Tatkare and Mr. Praful Patel on 2nd July 2023 acted in direct contravention of the Party Constitution and Rules, amounting to desertion and disqualification from the party membership.

Supriya Sule wrote in her letter to Sharad Pawar, “This decision of 2 MPs to support the 9 rebel MLAs has been taken without the permission of the party president and without taking all the members into confidence. This defection were done in such a clandestine manner without the knowledge or consent of the party president, which amounts to leaving the party. It has become abundantly clear that the said MP is no longer in agreement with the objectives and ideology of the NCP.”
