‘Surya is doing what I have never done’, read what de Villiers told the challenge with praise

He said that the shot which I could not play, is being played by Surya. He told what challenges would come in front of Suryakumar during his career.

De Villiers praised Suryakumar fiercely. According to the news published on India Today, he said, I think it is wonderful. He is hitting shots which I have never hit. It’s nice to watch them when they’re playing. I think there is a lot more to come. He will be an even better player in the future. They still have a long way to go. The biggest challenge for him will be to maintain consistency across formats.

Surya has made his debut for Team India in three formats. He has played one test match. At the same time, 23 ODIs have been played. He scored 433 runs in 21 innings. Surya has scored 2 half-centuries in ODIs. He has scored 1675 runs in 48 T20 International matches for India. During this, he has scored 3 centuries and 13 half-centuries. His best T20 score was 117 runs. Surya played the last ODI for India in March 2023 against Australia. Now he will take the field against the West Indies.

Three ODIs will be played between India and West Indies. The first match will be held in Barbados on 27 July. After this, on July 29, the second match will also be played here. The third and last match of the series will be played in Trinidad on 1 August.
