Saryu River in Ayodhya: For the last 10 days in Ayodhya, the water level of Saryu is continuously increasing. The main reason for this is the continuous rains in the hilly areas and the release of excess water from the barrage, due to which water is rising rapidly on the steps of Saryu Ghat. Due to the rising water level, a special security cordon has been prepared for the devotees taking bath in Saryu, on the other hand, the administration is also constantly monitoring the water level of Saryu.

Mokshadayini Maa Saryu has great religious importance in Ayodhya, devotees coming to Ayodhya do not forget to take a dip in Saryu. It is believed that by taking a bath in Saryu, one gets freedom from unknowingly sins, as well as one becomes free from the cycle of human life. Saryu river has another aspect as well, that apart from Ayodhya, many districts including Gonda, Basti are situated on the banks of Saryu river. This is the reason that when the water level of Saryu rises, the villages situated on its banks get affected rapidly.

The water level of Saryu is increasing continuously

The danger level of Saryu river is 92.730. The way Saryu is continuously increasing and decreasing from the danger mark, different kinds of apprehensions have started cropping up. At present, Saryu is flowing about one meter below the danger mark, but as much as it decreases after the release of water from the barrage, it increases much more than that. The water level of Saryu in Ayodhya started rising from 27th June and has been increasing sometimes and sometimes decreasing. As much as the water level of Saryu decreases, it increases much more after the water is released from the barrage, that is why the administration is also constantly monitoring the water level calculation of the Central Water Commission.

Saryu can cross the danger mark soon – Aman Chowdhary

Aman Chaudhary, junior engineer of the Central Water Commission, told that it is continuously raining and raining here and on the mountains. Apart from this, it is raining on the Nepal side as well, due to which a large amount of water is being released from the barrage. Due to which the water level of Saryu is increasing continuously. He said that the way it is raining daily and water is being released from the barrage, it cannot be denied that Saryu may not cross the danger mark.

Administration is already alert- Aman Chowdhary

Regarding the rising water level in Saryu, Aman Chowdhary told that the administration had started preparations for this from June itself. Saryu’s water is increasing since last June 27, since then people are alert about this. Sometimes due to heavy rains and cloudburst in Nepal, the water level in Saryu rises rapidly, everyone is alert about this.
