Delhi News: New office bearers of Delhi BJP are likely to be appointed by the end of this month. This information was given by a party leader. Appointments are to be made on the posts of Vice President, General Secretary, Secretary and others. The appointment has been pending ever since Virendra Sachdeva took over as Delhi BJP chief in March. The process of formation of the new team has slowed down, the reason for which is that the Delhi BJP has run a campaign for the whole month of June.
A senior Delhi BJP functionary said on Wednesday that the names of the presidents of 14 districts are also to be announced before the appointment of office bearers. After consultation with the General Secretary (Organization), the State President has shortlisted three to four potential candidates for each post who have good contacts, experience and good performance.
These leaders can be dropped
The names will be sent to the central leadership for final approval on the list. After getting the green signal from there, Virender Sachdeva will announce the new team. Sources told that many senior leaders who are constantly being given a place in the team can be dropped this time. These are such leaders who remain on the post even after the state president has been changed. Assembly elections are to be held in Delhi in 2025, so the party will elect office bearers keeping that in mind. Elections require strong leaders who have political utility.

The office-bearers of the Delhi BJP unit consist of one president, four general secretaries, eight vice-presidents and a secretary. In April, BJP national president JP Nadda reshuffled the general secretary (organisation) of the Delhi and Himachal units. Siddharthan, posted as General Secretary (Organization) of Delhi BJP, was sent to Himachal Pradesh and his Himachal counterpart Pawan Rana was brought to Delhi.
