Khalistani Supporter: Khalistan supporters have threatened to surround the Indian High Commission in London. After this, the British government has adopted a tough stand. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has said on Thursday (05 July) that any direct attack on the Indian High Commission in London is completely unacceptable and no one will be spared if this happens.
Significantly, the separatist group Sikh for Justice has announced to take out the so-called Khalistan independence rally on 8 July. Pro-Khalistan leaders have also released a poster for the promotion of the rally. Titled “Kill India”, the poster accuses Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma and Consulate General of India in Toronto Apoorva Srivastava of killing Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The poster is being shared fiercely
The poster of the upcoming rally is being shared by several accounts on Twitter. Significantly, earlier the Indian consulate in San Francisco was attacked by Khalistanis. Along with this, threats were given to senior Indian diplomats in Australia, Canada and America. After all this, now this poster has been released.
British government adopted a tough stand
British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly tweeted that any direct attack on the Indian High Commission in London is completely unacceptable. We have made it clear to Vikram Doraiswamy, the High Commissioner of India to the UK and the Government of India that the safety of the staff at the High Commission is of paramount importance. UK High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis has posted a tweet citing Cleverly that any kind of violence will not be accepted. Special care will be taken for the security of Indian officials.
