‘We are ready to help’, US offers on Manipur violence


Manipur Violence: So far, more than 100 people have lost their lives and hundreds of people have become homeless in the violent incidents that have been going on in Manipur for the last 2 months. The kind of situation prevailing in the state, people are forced to live in relief camps. Meanwhile, America has offered help to restore peace in Manipur. US Ambassador Eric Garcetti said that he is ready to help India to control the situation in the state.

At a press conference in Kolkata, Eric said, “I will first talk about Manipur. We wish that peace is restored there. If you want to know America’s stand on this matter, I think it is not a political problem, it is a humanitarian problem.” there is a problem.” He further said that when you see children and people dying in violence, you do not have to be an Indian to worry about it. We know that this matter is related to India and we wish for the restoration of peace here soon.

America offers to invest in the Northeast

The US ambassador also said that the US is considering new projects and investments with India in the Northeast. We wish that the situation in Manipur becomes normal soon as America can make new projects and investments here.

‘India has defeated such challenges before’

Congress leader Manish Tiwari has also reacted to this statement of the American Ambassador. He said, ‘We have never before seen any US ambassador reacting like this on India’s internal matters.’ Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and the Northeast, he said that India faced challenges here for decades, which were solved with intelligence and cleverness. Manish Tiwari said, ‘I doubt whether Garcetti is aware of the complex and tortuous history of Indo-US relations, our sensitivity to interference in internal affairs.’

The ongoing violence in Manipur is not taking the name of stopping. According to media reports, two people died in firing in violence-hit Churachandpur on Friday (July 7). There was firing here at 4:30 in the morning, after which tension spread again in the area. However, it is not known who did the firing. Schools and educational institutions were closed due to the prevailing tension in the state. Schools were opened two days earlier and during this time, a woman died after being shot in front of a school.
