Supreme Court Judge Farewell: Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud appeared in a very poetic manner in the farewell of Supreme Court Justice Krishnan Murari. Speaking a poem and two lines of Bashir Badr’s poem, he bid farewell to his old colleague Justice Krishnan. He recalled his old days spent with Justice Murari and also praised his work.
CJI’s poetry on Farewell
In his speech, the CJI praised Justice Krishnan Murari’s work, experiences and the decisions taken by him during the hearing. In a program organized by the Bar Association, the CJI said, “We are travelers, we are travelers, we will meet again at some point.” Further reliving two lines of poet Bashir Badr’s poem, he said, “Aapke saath kuch lamhe kain yaadein as reward, ek safar par nile aur tujurbe tamam mile.” He further said that Justice Murari is always calm, and this quality tells the correct behavior for the judge.
When the CJI announced the green bench, Justice Murari also brought back old memories
In his farewell speech, Justice Murari also praised the Chief Justice and also appreciated the steps and decisions taken by him. Referring to the paperless hearing decision taken by the CJI, he said, “When I was sitting with the Constitution Bench and the CJI suddenly announced that it would henceforth be a Green Bench. Don’t know much about him and he told me – I will teach.”
He further added, “The first day was very difficult for me as I could not operate the computer. After that Bhai Narasimha held his iPad towards me so that I could see. After that I asked my clerk to guide me.” And that’s how I could join the Green Constitutional Bench.”
Justice Murari has given important decisions in many cases
Supreme Court Justice Krishnan Murari has been a part of many decisions while in the Constitutional Bench. Among these is the Delhi vs Center case related to transfers and postings of officers. Justice Murari was also involved in the court’s decision on the upheaval in Maharashtra politics last year, in which the Mahavikas Aghadi government fell due to the resignation of Uddhav Thackeray without attending the floor test.
