Shiv Sena News: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has appointed Neelam Gore as ‘leader’ in the Shiv Sena. This post is given to the senior most leader after the party president. Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson and Uddhav Thackeray faction leader Neelam Gorey on Friday (July 7) joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Mumbai.
Gore, a confidante of former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, joined the ruling party in the presence of Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai. She is the third Shiv Sena member of the Legislative Council to join the Shinde camp.

According to PTI, Gore said on the occasion, ”Eknath Shinde Under the able leadership of Shiv Sena, it is moving in the right direction. I have decided to join the Shiv Sena keeping in mind the women’s issues and the overall development of the state and the country.” Chief Minister Shinde had termed Gore’s joining his party as a “historic” development.
The development comes at a time when there is unease in the Shinde-led Shiv Sena after a section of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar joined the Maharashtra government. Many leaders of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) had expressed unhappiness over Ajit Pawar joining the government.

On the other hand, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Vinayak Raut said that those who received favors from Uddhav Thackeray only ‘betrayed’ him and Shiv Sena to get the post.
