TMC accused of booth capturing before voting in West Bengal, two people died in separate violence


West Bengal Panchayat Election 2023: Voting for the Panchayat elections is going to be held in West Bengal today on 8th July. Voting for the Panchayat elections will start after some time from now, but just before that, once again there has been election violence in Bengal, in which two people have died. At the same time, BJP has accused of booth capturing before the elections.

The first incident of violence was in Murshidabad’s Beldanga area where Congress and TMC workers once again clashed, in which one person was badly injured and died during treatment in the hospital, while in Cooch Behar also one person died before polling. Election violence has happened again and again. There has been a bombardment at the candidate’s house here.

BJP alleges booth capturing even before voting

Before the voting of Panchayat elections in West Bengal, BJP has accused of booth capturing. BJP IT cell head, Amit Malviya claimed that West Bengal is likely to vote for panchayats tomorrow, July 8, but TMC goons are already trying to capture booths.

Sharing a video on Twitter, he wrote, “In this video villagers of Kanchrapara GP, Booth-129, North 24 Parganas can be seen retaliating. SEC (State Election Commissioner) willfully failed to implement court orders Is.”

Governor visited Murshidabad

West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose arrived in Murshidabad on Friday to tour the violence-affected areas, a day before the panchayat elections in the state. PTI quoted an official as saying that the governor reached district headquarters Berhampur by train on Friday morning and left for Kolkata in the evening. The governor had earlier visited Bhangar, Canning and Basanti in South 24 Parganas district and Coochbehar district where clashes between political parties had taken place.

The governor had accused the SEC

Governor Bose had on Thursday alleged that the State Election Commissioner (SEC) Rajeev Sinha had failed to discharge his duties in the panchayat elections. In a press conference, he had asked Sinha to ensure the safety of the people during the elections.
