Heavy rains wreak havoc in Japan, instructions to evacuate 3.70 lakh people


Japan Heavy Rainfall: It is raining heavily on Saturday (July 8) in Shimane Prefecture and other western Japan regions. Because of this, the Japanese authorities urged the two cities of Izumo and Shimane, about 370,000 residents, to evacuate their homes. At least 15 landslides have occurred in Izumo city. There is spate in 20 rivers.

According to the local government of Japan, four areas of the city have been isolated due to the cut off roads. A car was reported to have fallen into a river in the city of Izumo, and local police and rescue workers said they were searching for the driver.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Shimane and Izumo received 109 mm of rain in a six-hour period on Saturday, while neighboring Matsu recorded 95.5 mm of rain. The agency has called for caution, especially in the western, southwestern and central Japan regions, where heavy rain with thunderstorms is expected on Sunday as the chance of seasonal rain continues over the Japanese archipelago.

Due to heavy rains in Japan 1 week ago, 3,60,000 people were urged to evacuate their homes in Kumamoto city. According to local officials, a bridge over a small river flowing through Yamato collapsed due to extremely heavy rains in Japan’s southwestern Kyushu region on Monday (July 3).

Torrential rain warning
According to the report of Kyodo News Minato Agency, the Japan Meteorological Agency had warned of torrential rain. Apart from this, the Meteorological Agency had also asked the people living in the Kyushu region to be alert for landslides and floods. Earlier, the prefecture’s Yamato and Mashiki towns recorded 82 and 80 mm of rain per hour, respectively, on Monday (July 3) morning, which was a record.
