Rudrabhishek of Lord Bholenath is also being done with letters, flower garlands, and milk. Since morning, Shiva devotees are waiting for their turn in long queues. There is an influx of devotees since morning in the Matyagjendra Nath temple located at Ram Ghat in Chitrakoot. Devotees are engaged in long queues to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. Devotees come from far and wide to visit the Matyagjendra Nath temple.

Special importance of Matyagjendra Nath temple

The crowd of devotees throngs tremendously in Sawan. People have tremendous faith behind the Matyagjendra Nath temple. It is believed that 4 Shivlingas were established in the temple on behalf of Lord Brahma. During the exile, Lord Shri Ram took permission from Bholenath and made a halt in Chitrakoot. That’s why the importance of Chitrakoot also increases with the devotees. Devotees have a special attachment to Chitrakoot due to Lord Ram’s footsteps. This time Sawan is falling for two months.

Devotees are being offered darshan and worship one by one. Security personnel are seen ready around the temple premises.
