In view of the violence during polling, the West Bengal State Election Commission on Sunday (July 9) announced that re-polling would be held on Monday (July 10) in all booths where polling for rural elections was declared cancelled. Voting is to be held at a total of 604 booths.
Officials said that among the districts where re-polling was announced, Murshidabad has the maximum number of 175 booths, followed by Malda with 112 booths. Repolling will be held in 89 booths in violence-hit Nadia, while repolling will be held in 46 and 36 booths in North and South 24 Parganas districts. Voting is to be held at a total of 697 booths today.
