The Supreme Court rejected the petition against changing notes without seeing the identity card, what did the Chief Justice say?


2000 Rupee Note Exchange: The Supreme Court on Monday (July 10) dismissed a petition against exchanging Rs 2,000 notes without showing identity cards. Petitioner advocate Ashwini Upadhyay said that corrupt and anti-national elements are benefiting by changing notes without seeing the identity card.

Rejecting this petition, the Chief Justice said that the decision of the Reserve Bank is a policy matter. We will not interfere in this. Earlier on May 29, the Delhi High Court had also rejected the petition calling it a policy matter.
