42 apps with loan offers removed from Google Play Store, Apple also removed 6, people were upset


Google has removed 42 loan-offering apps from its Play Store. Similarly, Apple has also removed 6 such fake loan apps from the App Store. The Karnataka government has informed the Legislative Council on Monday about this action taken from the Google Play Store. According to the news of New Indian Express, these loan apps were troubling the common people. The minister said that the state government has taken several steps to curb the menace of such apps.

Around 800 illegal apps are still active

According to the news, the government has taken up the issue with the Center and Google, ensuring that 42 such apps have been removed from Play. The minister said that about 800 illegal apps are still active. This matter cannot be resolved by the state alone because the central government controls such apps (loan apps). This issue will be taken up with the Centre.

Complaints keep coming from users

Along with Google, Apple is also facing a similar problem with its App Store. Many iPhone users have complained about the problems caused by fake loan apps from the App Store. The company has removed around 6 loan apps from the App Store in recent weeks. Cases keep coming to the fore regarding loan apps. White Kash, Pocket Kash and Golden Kash are apps that are generally tested under Apple’s strict App Store policy but it seems some fake variants have made their way through the security which has cost the company and the country millions. There is a matter of concern for iPhone users.

Loan apps are proving to be a headache for technology companies like Google or Apple. Despite strict policies, these apps somehow manage to cross the filters imposed by Google and Apple. Google has had to face more trouble. In the past three years, an army of fake loan apps has sprung up targeting people in need of instant financial assistance during the pandemic.
