Nepal Plane Crash: A helicopter has fallen victim to an accident in Nepal on Tuesday morning, in which six people, including five Mexican tourists and a Nepalese pilot, died. According to the report, the helicopter of Manang Air went out of contact on Tuesday morning. Whose Nepal’s search team recovered the debris within a few hours.
According to Nepalese officials, the helicopter, which was on its way from Solukhumbu to Kathmandu, lost contact with the control tower at 10 am. Later he crashed between Jiri and Phaploo. However, this type of incident has not happened for the first time in Nepal. Even before this, such incidents have been seen in Nepal.
It is said for Nepal that on an average there is a plane crash in a year. According to a report, since 2010, 12 fatal plane crashes have been seen in Nepal, including Tuesday’s incident. Actually, the bad weather here and the difficult airstrip built between the mountains become a major reason for these accidents.
Five major plane crashes in Nepal
1. Yeti Airlines plane crash: On 15 January 2023, a passenger plane of Yeti Airlines crashed in Pokhara, Nepal. A total of 72 people lost their lives in this plane crash. In which there were 68 passengers and four crew members. The plane had reached near Pokhara that it crashed just 10 seconds before landing.
2- Tara airline plane crash: On May 29, 2022, a Tara Air plane crashed in Mustang district, killing all 22 people on board. Four Indians also died in this accident.
3- US-Bangla Airlines crash near Kathmandu: In 2018, a US-Bangla Airlines plane crashed while landing at Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport, killing 51 people, while 20 others were seriously injured. A total of 71 people were on board the aircraft.
4- Pakistan International Airlines crash in Kathmandu: This plane crash also happened in 1992, which is considered to be the deadliest air crash in the history of Nepal. Actually, in 1992, a flight of Pakistan International Airlines had crashed while going near Kathmandu airport. In this tragic incident, all 167 passengers and crew members aboard the aircraft were killed.
5- Thai Airways accident near Kathmandu : In the same year, in 1992, another painful plane crash took place near Kathmandu airport, in which Thai Airways plane was involved. This accident took place just two months before the 1992 Pak Airlines incident. 113 people lost their lives in this accident.
