Himachal Monsoon Alert: The continuous rains in Himachal Pradesh for the last 72 hours caused havoc. Heart-wrenching pictures have come to the fore from across the state due to the devastation. With the beginning of the month of July in Himachal Pradesh, the rains have destroyed many records. On July 10, the state received 1007 percent more rainfall than normal. On an average, 92 mm of rain was recorded in the state in a single day. Normally, only 8.3 mm of rain falls during this period.
Rain broke the records of many years
After the year 2012, Shimla received maximum rainfall at 103.1 mm. After 2014, Nahan received maximum rainfall in a single day on July 9. 172 mm of rain was recorded here. Solan received the highest rainfall of 172 mm after the year 1990. Kangra also received maximum rainfall of 175.4 mm after 2014. Keylong has received the highest rainfall of 72 mm since 1982. The incessant rains have completely disrupted the life of the common people.
Orange alert issued for rain
Orange alert of rain has been issued across the state on Tuesday as well. However, after July 12, the weather is expected to remain clear. Still people have been appealed not to travel if it is not necessary. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu Prime Minister Narendra ModiHas also spoken to Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. Himachal Pradesh has been assured of all possible help from the Central Government.
