14 years of Madanwada Naxalite attack, 29 soldiers including SP were martyred, CM Baghel paid tribute


Chhattisgarh News: 14 years ago today, 29 policemen, including the then Rajnandgaon SP, were martyred in a Naxalite encounter in Madanwada of Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. Today is his 14th martyrdom day. On this day, 29 jawans including the then Rajnandgaon SP Late Vinod Choubey were martyred fighting the Naxalites. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has paid humble tribute on his 14th Martyrdom Day today.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel tweeted that, ‘On July 12, 2009, in the forests of Madanwada in Rajnandgaon, the brave Superintendent of Police self. Vinod Choubey and his team sacrificed their lives for the soil of Chhattisgarh without caring for their lives. We all bow down to such great sons, offer our wreaths. We all are proud of you. Jai Hind.’

Apart from SP, 29 soldiers were martyred
Let us tell you that late SP Vinod Choubey was the country’s first martyr IPS officer in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal operation. He was awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously. He was martyred in an encounter during the Naxal attack. That attack was the first Naxalite attack in the country, in which an SP was martyred. Apart from the SP, 29 jawans were also martyred in this Naxalite attack.

During the encounter with Naxalites, the then Rajnandgaon SP Late Vinod Choubey, self. Vinod Dhruv, Uni Komal Sahu, Uni Dhanesh Sahu, Pr Sundar Lal Chowdhary, Pr Dushyant Singh, R Premchand Paswan, R Arvind Sharma, Pr Geeta Bhandari, Pr Zakharius Khalkho, Pr Sanjay Yadav, Constable Prakash Verma, R Beduram Suryavanshi, R Subhash Kumar Behera, R Tikeshwar Deshmukh, R Suryapal Vatti, R Ajay Kumar Bharadwaj, R Manoj Verma, R Lokesh Chediah, R Shyamlal Bhoi, R Mithlesh Kumar Sahu, R Rajnikanth, R Nikesh Sahu, R Santram Sahu, R Jhaduram Sahu, R Amit Nayak, R Ved Prakash Yadav, R Ritesh Kumar Vaishnav, R Lal Bahadur Nag were martyred in the encounter while fighting with Naxalites.
